Whatever faint hope may have existed for a battle atop the 2023 NHL draft board has evaporated as the consensus No. 1 pick has emerged from the pack, miles ahead of the rest of the field.

TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie unveiled his Top 12 Lottery Edition Draft Ranking on Monday, with Regina Pats star Connor Bedard sitting firmly atop the list.

“Didn’t have to overthink this,” McKenzie succinctly stated in his ranking.
