Hockey Canada has sparked controversy with the implementation of a new minimum attire policy for minor hockey dressing rooms, leaving experts puzzled and players questioning its necessity. The policy, which takes effect for the 2023-24 season, requires all players to wear a base layer in the dressing room at all times. The purpose of the policy, according to Hockey Canada, is to "create a more respectful and inclusive dressing room environment." However, some experts have expressed concern that it may have the opposite effect by creating an atmosphere of mistrust and suspicion.
